The Starlink service works through portable terminals that are like small antennas that stream the Internet from Musk's constellation of satellites in space to Earth.

These devices can be used in remote locations and also bypass the traditional earth-based infrastructure needed to access the Internet, such as cables and physical phone lines. This has helped the Ukrainians establish bases for their drone operations in rural areas, from where they can target the Russian military from the air.

Ukraine's drones are equipped with anti-tank weapons and thermal cameras that allow them to operate at night, as they operate in the dark using heat signatures.
"If we use a drone with thermal vision at night, the drone should connect with the gunner via Starlink and achieve target acquisition," a Ukrainian officer told The Times.
The official said that since the beginning of the invasion they have tanks, command trucks and cars that carry electronic equipment and destroyed the first dozen targets.
Armored elements of the Russian army, including tanks, have suffered a lot of damage in the ongoing war in Ukraine. Open source intelligence shows that so far 10 percent of all Russian tanks have been lost in the Ukraine offensive.

According to reports, the Russian commander of the tank unit in the above-mentioned film was killed during the Ukrainian attack.
