Douglas Rifle Barrels - It is a wrought bar of iron, cylindrical in shape, with a rough lathe turned finish. These barrels vary in diameter, but are always finished at least 1,200" O.D. This barrel is available in three lengths as indicated on the price list and barrel shape chart. This blank is intended for gun makers who like to bend and shape their own barrels.
This barrel is roughly finished to approx. size and shape. Typically this will be .025" to .050" larger than the finished dimensions indicated on the barrel size chart. It is finished centered and has a rough lathe finish. It is meant to be centered and shaped by you. This will come to you 1-1/2" higher than the card dimension.

The finished barrel is approx. chart dimensions within a few thousand. It is finished exactly in the middle on a lathe and turned to dimension and then belt sanded with the final grit size is 180. It also comes to you 1-1 / 2 "long.
Maw 76 'legion' Multi Barrel Weapon
Here we use the finished barrel above and then cut the appropriate thread for the action involved, chamber the cartridge and crown the barrel. The chamber of this barrel is finished in the sense that a finish reamer is not required. Instead, you have to make a small cut in the pants with a lathe and have a method to hack the head space. DO NOT move this barrel without making this adjustment. A set of instructions will be included in the package. Make sure not to throw it away with the packaging material.
Standard grade is a barrel that meets our dimensional specifications but may have a small amount of curvature. In fact, however, I find that the barrels in our scrap are straighter than most factory barrels. A barrel of PREMIUM grade is one that is judged directly from inspection. It will be marked with the symbol XX to indicate it.
In the process of checking our barrels, everything is checked with air gaging equipment. In addition, we find that some are more uniform than others. Those that measure .0001" or less difference from one end to the other are classified as air gaged. This does not mean that you should order a barrel of a lower quality class that you will not receive. a barrel with an AIR GAGE rating but this means that if you specify AIR GAGE you will get a barrel with the tolerance shown above.
You will find that most of our base barrels are marked for the muzzle end. In the process of air gaging, we mark the tight end as the mouth. Some people think the taper should be on the mouth, others say it doesn't make a difference. In any case, the barrel is marked, so the choice is yours.
Stainless Douglas Barrel For Win70
Many handgun shooters have had success with DOUGLAS barrels. We do NOT install these barrels. We only supply basic chrome moly blanks, to gunsmiths and gunsmiths who cut and fit these blanks to handguns. We do not do pistol smithing other than some silhouette barrels (See below).
Silhouette shooting with handguns has become very popular. Most barrel makers provide a mold for this purpose. We deliver our regular sporter shape and customers cut 15 "or whatever the customer wants. This allows a choice of weights to fit the stock, action and sights to the weight limits. We fit barrels and deliver FTC barrels in the appropriate caliber for the Remington XP100 action.The price is the same as a gun barrel.
This barrel shape is made for silhouette shooting and high pressure 45 caliber cartridges. In silhouette adjustment the breech diameter is always 1,200" muzzle diameter 750" and an O.A.L. of 24 "to meet the weight requirements of this sport. The barrel used in the 458 cartridges has the appropriate diameter for the action involved. This barrel is available in lengths from 22" to 26 ". All these barrels have our sporter profile .The weight of the silhouette barrel is approximately 4 lbs. 7 ½ oz.
NOTE: You must cut 1 ½" off the muzzle on all BASIC, PRET and FT barrels. Douglas 18" Flat Dark Earth Cerakoted 416 stainless steel barrel with 1-7 twist and M4 feed ramps.
